The Lay-Z-Spa E01 error indicates that the water flow paddle or flow switch is not returning to its correct resting position. This may be caused by a sticking or damaged flow paddle, a faulty flow sensor or an issue with the associated wiring. The fault can prevent the heater pump from operating normally.

The Lay-Z-Spa E02 error indicates that the heater pump is not detecting sufficient water flow. Common causes include blocked or dirty filters, restricted water circulation, a faulty water flow sensor, a damaged impeller or a problem with the circulation pump. This error can prevent the hot tub from heating or operating correctly.
E02 Diagnosis, Repair Guide & Replacement Parts →
The Lay-Z-Spa E03 error indicates that the water temperature is too low for the heater pump to operate normally, typically below 4°C. This can occur during freezing weather or when the temperature sensor detects unusually cold water. In some cases, a faulty temperature sensor or associated wiring may also trigger the error.
E03 Diagnosis, Repair Guide & Replacement Parts →
The Lay-Z-Spa E04 error indicates that the water temperature is too high, typically exceeding 50°C. This may be caused by overheating, a faulty temperature sensor or an issue with the heater's temperature control system. The heater pump may shut down automatically to prevent further overheating and protect its components.
E04 Diagnosis, Repair Guide & Replacement Parts →
The Lay-Z-Spa E05 error indicates a problem with the water temperature sensor or the heater's temperature monitoring system. Common causes include a faulty or damaged temperature sensor, loose or corroded wiring connections, or a fault within the heater pump's control system. This error can prevent the hot tub from heating or operating correctly.
E05 Diagnosis, Repair Guide & Replacement Parts →
The Lay-Z-Spa E08 error indicates a problem with the heater's thermal safety cut-out or overheating protection system. Possible causes include restricted water circulation, a faulty thermal cut-out switch, overheating or damaged wiring. The heater pump may stop operating to protect its components until the underlying fault is resolved.
E08 Diagnosis, Repair Guide & Replacement Parts →
The Lay-Z-Spa E12 error indicates that water has been detected leaking inside the heater pump. Common causes include worn or damaged HydroJet pump seals, leaking pipe connections, faulty O-rings or damaged internal components. The moisture detection system activates the E12 error and shuts down the pump to prevent further damage. Disconnect the pump from the mains and have the leak repaired before using it again.
E12 Diagnosis, Repair Guide & Replacement Parts →
The Lay-Z-Spa E19 error indicates that the heater pump has detected an electrical circuit overload or overheating within the power board system. Possible causes include a faulty circuit board, overheating electrical components or damaged connections. The pump may shut down automatically as a safety precaution. Disconnect the unit from the mains and have the electrical fault professionally diagnosed before further use.
E19 Diagnosis, Repair Guide & Replacement Parts →
The Lay-Z-Spa GCF error (sometimes displayed as 6CF) indicates a problem with the electrical earth connection. Common causes include faulty household wiring, an unsuitable extension lead, a poorly earthed socket or a fault within the heater pump's main circuit board. If the household electrical supply has been checked and confirmed safe, the GCF error may be caused by a faulty circuit board requiring replacement. Do not bypass the electrical safety protection.
